The Bloody Sock
To help beat the Yankees during the 2004 ALCS, Curt Schilling became an icon of fearless competition by pitching, very effectively, with a dislocated tendon in his right ankle—an injury that left his ankle and sock soaked in blood as the game progressed. He then went on and pitched his team to victory again on the same jury-rigged ankle in the World Series and held the Cardinals to just one unearned run in six innings. The Red Sox won the game 6-2, giving them a 2-0 lead as the World Series. “The Bloody Sock” will forever be the perfect symbol that marks the sacrifice and determination of the great 2004 Red Sox team.
I'm going to attack this project with bloody sock determination.
