Dewey
Nickname for right fielder Dwight Evans, who played for the Sox from 1972 – 1990. A lifetime .272 hitter, Dewey was known primarily for his defense, winning the gold glove seven times (plus one tie). He is often remembered for his catch at the wall to rob Joe Morgan of a home run in the 1975 World Series, arguably one of the greatest defensive plays in the history of the game. Also known for his iconic batting stance (see image).
