About Duffy's Cliff

What is Duffy's Cliff? Technically, it was a 10 foot slope that used to exist at the base of Fenway Parks left field wall. It may be gone but we're here to tell you about that and everything else Red Soxian. This Duffy's Cliff site is the brainchild of an email exchange that took place in September of 2004 between Emily of The Red Seat and Edward of Bambino's Curse fame. It went something like this:

Emily: Why do they call Shaughnessy "CHB"? I know it's "Curly Haired Boyfriend" but I don't get the "boyfriend" part.

Edward: You're the second person to write in asking this today which, as I wrote back to the other reader, makes me realize the need for some sort of Red Sox Nation "glossary of terms" where everything from Enos Slaughter to CHB to The Red Seat would be defined and put into context. Ideally, it would be the sort of thing where everyone could add and define terms.

A flurry of excited emails followed and the seeds of Duffy's Cliff were planted like outfield grass and in 2004 that was championship grass!
